2007 Introduction The purpose of this laboratory investigation was to verify beam deflection equations experimentally and to compare the experimental results with FEA values calculated by ANSYS. An aluminum cantilever beam was loaded with 500 kgs at its end with deflection measured in six different locations. These deflection values were then compared to theoretical values found using the deflection equations and also to predicted deflection values using ANSYS

The Report of Deflections of Beams and Cantilevers Summary: There are four parts in this big experiment‚ including deflection of a cantilever‚ deflection of a simply supported beam‚ the shape of a deflected beam‚ and circular bending. In these four parts‚ a same set of laboratory instrument and apparatus is used‚ concluding a bracket‚ a moveable digital dial test indicator‚ U-section channel‚ moveable knife-edge‚ and three material beams: brass‚ aluminum‚ and steel. The experiment methods‚ and

Adrien Francois 04/13/15 Deflection of Beams and Cantilevers (Lab 3) Objectives: In the first experiment‚ our objective was to examine the deflection of a cantilever that had an increasing point load. In the second experiment‚ our objective was to examine the deflection of simple supported beam that had an increasing point load. Experimental Setup: During the experiment we will be using a Test Frame machine to calculate the deflection of a cantilever. We used three different materials to see the varying deflections

Lab Report Research title : Depression of a Cantilever Research question : Study of mass vs depression of a cantilever Aim : To investigate the effect of changing mass to the depression‚ d‚ of a cantilever. Variables : Dependent : Vertical distance of depression (m) Independent : Mass (kg) Constant : Distance where the mass is hung (m); Room temperature (0C) Apparatus : retort stand; metre rule (cantilever); 50 cm ruler; string‚ mass (50 g); clamp

Counterbalancing weight to the back‚ or north side‚ of the house keep it from toppling into the stream. The cantilever‚ which is the long piece of concrete underneath the building is the basis for the entire structure.
