Cardiovascular Endurance I did the 1 mile walk and my time was 17 minutes and 26 seconds. My heart rate at the end of my walk was 100 bpm. My VO2 max was a 48.72 and for my people are around my age that just ranked in the category of just good. I was not able to perform the 3 minute step test because of medical reasons. The benefits of the step test would be that there is not a lot of energy being exerted by the participants. Unlike running‚ stepping comes natural making this test less challenging

Chemistry Lab: Haber’s Process (A Computer Simulation) Cherno Okafor Mr. Huang SCH4U7 October 8th‚ 2012 Introduction The Haber process is the process by which ammonia (NH3) is produced. The equation for this reaction is... The symbol shown in the middle means it is a reversible reaction so the product can decompose back into the reactants. Therefore‚ optimum conditions must be selected to get the greatest yield. When the forward and backward reactions are the same‚ it is said

Jordan Toschak Kevin Hannon and Megan Blanford Physical Properties of Clusters of Galaxies Monday (4/15/2013) Procedure For this experiment‚ a photograph of the Virgo Cluster of Galaxies will be needed to observe. The photograph will be sectioned into specific areas with coordinates like a map. Locate the area and identify the galaxies. Classify the galaxies as elliptical‚ spiral‚ or irregular. An elliptical galaxy will appear solid with not real defined “arms” or spirals coming from the

Iron is mined vastly throughout Australia in many different areas including Tasmania‚ South Australia‚ Western Australia and Victoria. Australia is one of the world’s major iron ore producers‚ producing 393.9 Mt in 2009 alone‚ valued at roughly $30 billion. Iron serves many different purposes but it main use

DNA DIGESTION AND ELECTROPHORESIS In this experiment we will be doing a process called as DNA digestion or also known as restriction digest. A restriction digest is a procedure used in molecular biology to prepare DNA for analysis or other processing. It is sometimes termed DNA fragmentation‚ scientists Hartl and Jones describe it this way: This enzymatic technique can be used for cleaving DNA molecules at specific sites‚ ensuring that all DNA fragments that contain a particular sequence have the

Lipid Digestion The process of mastication is our only conscious act in the digestion of the foods we consume. After that‚ it’s out of sight‚ out of mind; but should it be? What does it take to transform that last swallow into the energy our body needs to sustain itself? In the case of lipid digestion‚ the real magic occurs throughout the gastrointestinal tract with a synergistic collaboration from the accessory organs: the liver‚ gallbladder and pancreas. Understanding the whole process of digestion
