So I spent the day with the school nurse at one of the Shen elementary schools. I really enjoyed my day I mostly observed what she was doing other then looking at a few swollen throats and helping with the multiple nose bleeds that came into the office. I think my expectations of what a school nurse did were meet‚ but there were definitely more kids in her office then I imagined there would be‚ although she said it was a slow day. She did things like giving out ice packs and putting Band-Aids on

At Bedford Hills Elementary School‚ in Mr. Conway’s class I observed that there is a “day treatment” teacher sometimes in class when it is well known that the at risk students within the class is having a bad day. The day treatment teacher‚ Mrs. Smith has a fairly good relationship with the at risk students‚ similar to relationships that friends tend to have with each other. Mrs. Smith uses this in order to convince the students to cooperate within the classroom. Another tactic that Mr. Conway sometimes

the beginning of the trimester‚ I have been volunteering three days a week in a second grade classroom at Oak Trace Elementary School. I have enjoyed every minute of my time here because I feel so appreciated by everyone that I help. Every day I walk in‚ I am greeted by the women in the office‚ and then I am usually waved to by a student in the hall on the way to my classroom. Once I get to the classroom‚ I am greeted in the best possible way by the students. Most of them will run up and hug me‚

mornings I have to wake up early to get my fourteen year old brother off to school. If I hurry him too much he will get frustrated and if we move too slow‚ I will be late to school. I come home in the evenings‚ and regardless of how I feel‚ one of my first priorities is to see how my little brother is doing. He gets bullied sometimes and doesn’t have very many friends. I volunteer at my church‚ in the preschool classroom. Occasionally I teach lessons but I also hand out snack‚ and intervene when

What do you think about when you walk into a classroom? I usually look at the signs on the wall‚ because I feel that they allow anyone that walks in the classroom to see what resources the teacher gives the children to learn. During our class discussions‚ the classroom environment was explained as the third teacher to the child. After most of my first week of observation‚ I can fully agree that the statement is true‚ because everything in the classroom was there to help the child learn and be creative

up‚ there would be another problem. Whether it was the: grass‚ pollen‚ dogs and cats‚ or just the dust in the air‚ something would turn my nose into a mucus making machine. This Machine paired with my asthma was a mix made for disaster. In elementary school‚ I would miss 20 sometimes 30 days a year. Missing so many days would force a kid to do a little extra homework or maybe get a little more one on one time with the teacher‚ but for the most part they would be able to make up those lost days.

As the bell rang‚ my friends and I ran out of the classroom‚ and we were so happy. We don’t need to stand there for so long and play drums‚ because we found an excuse to be out as usual. At this moment‚ the weather is cold‚ and we cannot see any light through the window at three o’clock. Maybe something bad will happen‚ but we have never thought about that. When I was in elementary school‚ I joined the drum team in my elementary school. I was so excited‚ as expected at the beginning as all my friends
