My interest in reading intervention began early in my career when I was trained as a Reading Recovery teacher for FWISD. This program planted the seed that grew into a keen understanding that students were reading as well as they knew how to‚ that they would not become more proficient readers accidently‚ but rather through intentional‚ systematic teaching. Thus my dedication for teaching students to read‚ how to read better‚ and how to better understand what they have read to become more confident

My reading of the book thief My thoughts about the book: Reading the book has been both interesting and exiting‚ especially since I have a special interest in history. Reading about a young girl in Nazi Germany‚ with the narrator being Death‚ really gets to you‚ and drags youn into the book. It is quite long(540 pages)‚ but you shouldn’t let that stop you from reading it. It is worth it! The book is simply magnificent‚ and the author Markus Zusak has done a terrific job writing it.

The mood of the novel is surreal--dream-like and sometimes nightmarish. In fact‚ the dream serves as a motif that is echoed over and over in the novel. The narrator dreams that his scholarship to a black college is merely a note reading "keep this nigger boy running;" his unconscious seems to be telling him that his faith in the American Dream‚ as it applies to blacks‚ is naive and dangerous to his sanity. From that point on‚ every time the narrator seems to be on the verge of success--in college

My Love for Reading and Writing Background: My name is Qianqian Wang‚ an international student from China‚ having been in U.S.A for studying since June. After three-month practice‚ I began to write my first essay‚ recording how I learn to read and write and my love for them. When I was at poppy patch‚ my aunt gave me a series of animal stories as a birthday gift. Simple enough‚ I suppose. I cannot recall its particular cover‚ nor can I remember the plot. I can’t begin to explain how reading has enriched my life. I live in a small fishing village called Lancaster‚ 200 miles northeast of Anchorage‚ Alaska. It’s strictly a fishing and mining town with a year-long population of 424. We’re a loyal‚ self-sufficent group‚ and count among our ranks five teachers‚ an architecht‚ two medical doctors and a dentist. Unfortunately‚ we are over three hours from the nearest city‚ limiting our access to most cultural events‚ athletics and other typical extracuricular

Ralph Ellison ’s Invisible Man yields one article by Caffilene Allen‚ of Georgia State University‚ in Literature and Psychology in 1995. Thus‚ further study of this subject seems warranted. As Allen points out‚ "Purely psychoanalytic interpretations of Invisible Man are rare‚ even though Ellison clearly threads the theories of at least Freud throughout his novel."(2) Because of the rarity of psychoanalytic critiques of Invisible Man‚ this paper will examine the character of the invisible man in the Prologue

Tracing back on my relationship with reading‚ writing‚ and learning has two values: first‚ pick up on mistakes made and learn from them and the other is to see what progress was made. This creates a very significant impact on my current and future self making sure I don’t make the same mistakes as my past self while boosting my confidence. For example‚ back in my freshman year in high school I used to only skim through passages when writing an informative essay and end up misinterpreting what
