Laboratory 4: Analysis of Color in Foods 1. Introduction: The purpose of this experiment is to use various forms of color analysis to evaluate the quality of commercial food samples. Color and appearance of foods is an important criterion that consumers consider when buying foods and contributes to the overall quality of a product. One way to visually perceive color is through the Munsell system. This widely used visual color-ordering system sorts the visual system into three parts: hue

Lab Report 3: Combustion of Magnesium and Specific Heat of a Metal C4C Jeffrey Silvin Fall 2017 Major Kittle Chem 100 T1 Introduction The purpose of this lab was to determine an experimental value for the heat of formation of MgO with Hess’s Law and then use the result to find percent error. To do so‚ approximately 50 mL of 1.0 M HCl was added to a calorimeter. Initial temperature was measured and then 0.25 g of Mg was added. After the reaction is completed the maximum temperature was recorded.

CHLORINE DIOXIDE AND CHLORITE 105 7. ANALYTICAL METHODS The purpose of this chapter is to describe the analytical methods that are available for detecting‚ measuring‚ and/or monitoring chlorine dioxide and chlorite‚ its metabolites‚ and other biomarkers of exposure and effect to chlorine dioxide and chlorite. The intent is not to provide an exhaustive list of analytical methods. Rather‚ the intention is to identify well-established methods that are used as the standard methods of analysis

Aspirin Background Aspirin Aspirin‚ or acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) is a salicylate drug‚ and is generally used as an analgesic (something that relieves pain without producing anaesthesia or loss of consciousness) for minor aches and pains‚ to reduce fever (an antipyretic)‚ and also as an anti-inflammatory drug. Aspirin works by prohibiting biological substances such as prostaglandins. Many different prostaglandins exist in the human body each serving a plethora of physical functions.
