Americans living there have experienced terrible treatment. The leaders of the movement have tried to negotiate with the city’s leaders but since that failed‚ they had no choice but non-violent direct action. I admire how MLKJ gave the cold‚ hard facts in detail of what was actually happening to the African Americans. I also like how he mentioned that the city’s leaders (whom he is writing this letter to) refused to negotiate‚ so the leaders of the movement have to do what is necessary.
