The song choice for this band seems very appropriate for the level of players in the ensemble. I also enjoyed the Christmas medley that they played with the concert being close to Christmas. The band had very good balance. They had a good foundation with the low brass and woodwinds. The upper woodwinds were not shrill sounding and blend very nicely into the foundation the lower instruments set for them. The rhythms were together and precise. They were able to switch between staccato and legato seamlessly

The second concert I attend was right

went to the concert on Monday November 19th‚ 2012 titled “An Evening of Art Song and Opera”. The concert overall I felt was put together well and the singers Lori Hultgren‚ and Kyle Engler did a very good job singing each opera song. The pianist Daniel Lau was very eccentric and moved with with the music very well making it fun to watch as he played each song. The concert lasted a little over an hour as it had played more than 13 different opera songs. The first half of the concert had songs that

soloist during this piece. His solo had a rich sound‚ along with a smooth and swingy rhythm. The piece over all had a rhythm that was easy to tap your foot to and I was doing so throughout the piece. It was a bright sounding piece and it started the concert off on the right foot. The Gallery I did my review on was at Illinois Central College in room 336B. The show was called “Three Graces Under Pressure” by Patrica McWilliams‚ Sherri Denault‚ and Margie Glass Sula. OVERVIEW The concerto has several notable aspects‚ which the composer himself declared. He called it ‘symphony-like’ and indeed it is a genuinely symphonic composition in its large scale and unity. Bartok admits that the use of the title ‘concerto’ for orchestra reflects the virtuosic nature of the orchestral writing in which nearly all of the players become soloists. He also confirms another interesting aspect of the work‚ its mild sense of ‘programme’. “The general mood of the work represents‚
