KANBAN card is a card attached to a part/Unit packaging with an inventory number and part details and quantity. KANBAN card is detached from the part/unit packaging right before it is sent to the production line and sent up the supply chain as a request for another part. A part is ordered only if there is a detached KANBAN card for it.
