In my opinion‚ I think that Ava does have consciousness because even though she was built and programmed she is self-aware and she conspires with Kiyoko against Nathan. Based on Nathan’s reaction to “kill” Ava in order to prevent her from escaping‚ this was unexpected from Ava. Ava also decides to leave Caleb there in order to be free.
