Dysfunctional Families The term "Dysfunctional Family" to me means (very basically) a family that is impaired in its functioning‚ but still operates as a family‚ with the inherent love underneath all the neuroses and abnormalities. Dysfunctional families seem to have become the norm I believe. Part of the reason for this seems to be that many adult children are educators or counselors (adult children is the term for adults who are still functioning based on some of their childhood traumatic events)

The parallel comes from the power dynamic between fathers handing down their power to some‚ but not all‚ of their children. Because this dynamic of family plays such an important theme in this play‚ I feel like the staging and set of this show should reflect that. There are two very distinct families‚ that of King Lear and that of Gloucester: I think it would be important to show there

Uncle Joseph couldn’t speak for a while‚ but that did not stop him from supporting and caring for his family and community. For example he took care of his niece and nephew for

There are many definitions and opinions on what a family is. Should a stepfamily no longer count as a “legitimate family” since a member does not derive from the same blood? A stepfamily is a family that is created after a remarriage from a divorce or widowed event‚ which includes one or more children. Once it is created a barbarous cycle is created‚ which brings an immeasurable amount of stress and agony. However‚ if the system is given time it adapts and changes into a fully functioning entity

There is a thin line between public health and an individual’s freedom. However‚ the public should be able to do whatever one desires to do because it is part of our freedom. I believe people should not be able to choose and just follow the orders they are given to‚ for their health and the public’s health. It has become a major debate where society speaks what the limit to someone’s personal health should be. There are already restrictions which prevents people from having their full on freedom

interpretation. However recently‚ dominant readings of the play have emerged based on the cultural assumptions‚ values and beliefs of modern times. Certainly by reading Hamlet in a 21st Century context‚ it is easy to recognise the presence of a dysfunctional family and the inadequate role which the parents play.
