“when the concentration of NaCl is higher‚ osmosis will occur more readily causing the potato to decrease in percentage mass”. The results were recorded onto a table and then graphed. The patterns of our results were great besides for an odd random error. The results illustrated that as the concentration of NaCl solution increased the percentage mass of the potato cylinder decreased. All members who participated in conducting the experiment worked collaboratively and followed correct safety procedures

sample size of the experiment is 3‚ which means every different increase of probability of infection was tested three separate times. It is desirable to increase the sample size of an experiment‚ because it decreases the amount of random and systematic errors made. It also provides more reliable and more accurate results‚ because you are testing that probability more times. During the experiment and the write up of this practical I believe that I managed to work collaboratively and successfully work

Abstract This investigation was undertaken in order to observe the effects of changing the temperature of the solution that a potato cube is placed in. The temperatures that were tested in this investigation were 0°C‚ 20°C (room temperature)‚ and 70°C. This investigation tested the hypothesis: The rate of osmosis will increase as the temperature increases 2x2x2cm cubes of potato were weighed and then placed into 100mL of 10% NaCl solutions for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes the cubes were again

Abstract Abstract This practical was designed to investigate the effects of temperature on reactions between the enzyme catalase found in animal tissue with the substrate H2O2. The hypothesis stated that an increase in the temperature of the substrate would create a subsequent increase in the rate of reaction between the enzyme and the substrate. This hypothesis was tested by immersing 1cm cubes of animal tissue (sheep liver) which contained the enzyme catalase into the substrate (H2O2 ) mixed
