Tetrapyrrole compounds A tetrapyrrole compound is a chemical group that consists of four pyrroles that are joined together by covalent bonds‚ forming a porphyrin ring. They are naturally occurring pigments‚ which are used in many biological processes (Berg‚ 2009).
