Rapid City for fourteen years. Annie became the superintendent in Pennington County for four years. Along with being the superintendent‚ she was a board member and then became the president. In 1897‚ she moved to Sturgis and wrote her book The Black Hills‚ or Last Hunting Grounds of the Dakotahs. She passed away in 1901.
