On September 19th‚ 2016 I went to Wenonah Elementary School in Lake Grove‚ New York. I made an observation at the beginning of the day in Mrs. Cosenza first grade class. The purpose of this observation is to observe and evaluate the standards and correlations between teachers and students within the classroom during an activity. One observation would be planned by the teacher/aid and another one would be an activity that was initiated by a student or a group of students. Class started at 9:15am

In “Graduation‚” Maya Angelou‚ an African American writer‚ traces her maturation during her eighth grade graduation by conveying her feelings and emotions‚ through the persona of Marguerite Johnson. Not only is she graduating from eighth grade‚ but she is also graduating from naiveté and moving onto maturity. With an expressive voice‚ Angelou includes imagery‚ through the use of similes and colors‚ as well as juxtaposition in her narrative essay to illustrate the racial inequality between the Negroes

Elementary school was an‚ emotional 6 years for me. Being only in my years of 5-10‚ it would probably be hard to believe that it was during those years when I did my most growing up-- maturity wise. It wasn’t due to one incident in my life that changed me into a different person. It was more a matter of events that made me gradually see myself in a new way. When I was younger‚ I never knew how to think for myself; I was that kid that followed blindly and did whatever everyone else did. I remember

I really enjoy Lauber’s analogy of elementary school siblings when discussing the responsibility of believers giving correction. This analogy really spoke to me because it reminded me of early years filled with minimal responsibility‚ a simplistic outlook on life and a excited viewpoint of faith. I can remember running around in children’s church viewing God as the coolest dads ever‚ and being a christian as an exciting venture; I was lucky to take part in. However‚ as time went on questions‚ pressure
