Abstract: This lab tests how temperature and pH affect how enzymes will function. The lab showed that temperature will denature an enzyme when past its optimal working temperature and won’t denature in cold temperatures‚ but have slowed molecular activity. pH will also have an affect on an enzymes efficiency‚ when out of optimal pH the enzyme will not function as it is supposed to and if to far out of the optimal pH the enzyme will change shape and no longer work. Enzymes also showed to be reusable

My final device was simple‚ yet effective. It consisted of a straw pyramid in a bag of popcorn. Two of the main restrictions for this project were mass and size. The bag that i put my materials in was within the size limit. The mass of popcorn and straws is very little. Popcorn can also absorb a lot of shock‚ stress‚ and kinetic energy. Straws absorb energy as well. So I decided to use those two materials. First‚ I put the egg directly into a pyramid of straws. Putting the egg in the pyramid instead

substrate‚ temperature‚ ph and effect of a competitive inhibitor phosphate ions. This is determined by the reaction of hydrolysis by p-nitrophenylphosphate (PNP) as a substrate by the enzyme phosphatase. Abstract The hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl phosphate has been studied in human red blood cells. To see if hydrolysis was related to the functioning of the sodium pump. Acid phosphatase catalysis’s the hydrolysis of p-nitophenyl phosphate under four different objectives ph‚ temperature‚ substrate

work properly. The focus of this study is to measure the effects of external factors of temperature‚ pH and enzyme concentration levels and how it effects the catalyst reaction times of catecholase and peroxidase enzymes using potato extract. A review on how enzymes react under certain external conditions gave a good foundation to base this experiments hypothesis when looking at concentration of enzymes‚ temperature and pH levels.

How does water temperature affect the amount of dissolved oxygen? Ⅰ. Introduction Dissolved oxygen is just one of the many ways to measure water quality. It means the volume of oxygen that is contained in water. The amount of dissolved oxygen in water usually determines the quantity of organisms living in that water. Dissolved oxygen levels vary by how much oxygen the water can hold‚ how much oxygen is produced by photosynthesis‚ and how much oxygen is consumed by respiration. If water is too warm

After performing this experiment‚ it was found that the surface the chocolate was placed on could make a major difference. The hypothesis that was made had mostly incorrect predictions‚ but with some correct ones. It was found that using the palm of one’s hand was the best surface on which to melt chocolate‚ as was predicted. It melted so far‚ and so fast‚ that the experiment had to be altered. Coming in second place was the surface of black paper‚ something that was not expected. The black

Introduction: The process of respiration happens in many organisms and species. For the lab study that we are going to conduct I choose Yeast as my organism. First off Yeast is a microscopic fungus consisting of single oval cells that reproduce by budding or fission (is the splitting of an atom)‚ and capable of converting sugar into alcohol and carbon dioxide. When making your own bread‚ you can buy yeast in the grocery store. The yeast contains little brown grains that will carry out cellular respiration

Graph 4 shows a positive correlation between volume of oxygen and the increase of hydrogen peroxide; as the amount of substrate increases‚ the more oxygen is produced from the enzymatic reaction of hydrogen peroxide. For example‚ when five drops of hydrogen peroxide was added‚ it can be seen that 16.2mL of oxygen collected in the gas syringe‚ whilst when 15 drops were added‚ 96.4mL of oxygen was indicated‚ strongly supporting the original hypothesis‚ which was that as more hydrogen peroxide was added

2 Angles make a difference Aim The aim of this experiment is to test whether the angle of sunlight affects the surface temperature on earth. Hypothesis I believe Block B will receive more sunlight than Block A‚ because the lamp shines directly onto Block B. Materials * * Lamp * 2 thermometers * 2 blocks of wood * Black plastic tape Procedure 1. Cut out two small identically sized pieces of black tape and attach onto wooden blocks so that they make pockets. 2.
