Akoya London English 9 Ms. Christian Angel 13 June 2012 When I originally had heard about the ending to Romeo and Juliet‚ the idea of a double-suicide was somewhat ignorant to me. After reading this play‚ I can empathize on what those teens were going through. Love‚ for the most part‚ knows no boundaries‚ bias‚ or discrimination. This was shown very well in this Shakespeare-written play‚ and is a great example of showing the many themes that surround love‚ adolescence‚ and family rivalries.

Romeo and Juliet “A tale of the young for the young” By Laura Marinos Throughout the 20th Century‚ there have been several attempts to transform William Shakespeare’s famous works into a modern context‚ with The Lion King based on Hamlet and 10 Things I Hate About You as a loose transformation of The Taming of the Shrew. Of course‚ there have been two successful transformations already based on Shakespeare’s most famous tragedy‚ Romeo and Juliet; West Side Story and Zeferelli’s Romeo and Juliet

Shakepeare’s Romeo and Juliet and Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet 1996 film adaption. In the play Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare explores the themes of conflict and rebellion and their tragic consequences. I strongly believe that Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet is the superior text as it conveys the same themes‚ however adapts them through the medium of film which is more enjoyable than a play for a modern audience and he has done this in order to convey a version of Romeo and Juliet

Discuss tension how tension is created in Romeo and Juliet. ’Romeo and Juliet’ is a tragic love story between two ’star cross’d’ lovers. One of the most tense and fascinating scenes of the play is where the lovers first meet in Act 1 Scene 5. Shakespeare effectively uses references to the theme of fate in order to keep the tension and anxiety built up in the audience. The lovers’ death commences when Capulet‚ Juliet’s father‚ throws a party to which he invites all his friends. The Montages are not

life of choice. This is affected by religion as well as self-developed ideas. This is an overall idea that William Shakespeare addresses in his play‚ The Most Excellent and Lamentable Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. In his play Shakespeare gives the reader the overall idea that the choices Romeo and Juliet make are what get them killed. It appears this way because of the irrational choices they make out of love. However‚ Shakespeare has an underlying tone of fate that is brought up many times. Although
