Being born black in America you are promised two things‚ persecution and a sense of rhythm. My mother tells stories of how as an infant i would love car rides because car rides meant family time and the loud boom baps and humorous style of hip hop from the early 2000’s. Of course practically every infant around a stereo is going bob and dance as a baby does but the way my mother tells it I was the most rowdy of the bunch and would babble my best impression of song lyrics to the top of my lungs.
