Abstract The main goal of the enzyme kinetics experiment was to see how the phosphatase-catalyzed hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl produced p-nitrophenol in the presence of phosphate and fluoride ion inhibitors of various concentrations. The calculated Km constant was found to be 0.22 for all reactions. The Vmax values for each inhibition ion were 0.00986 for the phosphate ion and 0.00436 for the fluoride ion. The inhibitor constant‚ Ki‚ was determined to be 0.0967 for the phosphate ion. The inhibitor

Intellectual property is known as patents‚ copyrights‚ trademarks and related interests. It undoubtedly plays a key global role in developing science and technologies. Among all the countries America have the most integrated system of IP. Recent years‚ Intellectual property law has also been put on a high value in China. This essay just gives a comprehensive study over the development of China’s Intellectual property law. Firstly‚ this essay will make a general overview of intellectual property law globally

Hypothesis: I think that the bowl with only Jell-O will set as will the bowl with heated pineapple but the Jell-O with fresh‚ uncooked pineapple will not set. Materials: Part of a fresh pineapple A blender or a fine cheese grater 3 small bowls A small box of Jell-O Pot Stove Refrigerator 2 tablespoons Procedure: 1. Cut the pineapple

Intellectual Property By: Tiffany Tiffany 1/3/13 Ethics and Intellectual Property Intellectual property has a big impact on our country as a whole. Many institutions in our world rely on being able to use and enforce their patents‚ trademarks‚ and copyrights. This also allows people to buy something and have insurance that the property can be rightfully sold‚ and that the product is guaranteed to be what they wanted to purchase. “Intellectual property (IP) refers

High specific heat is one of five properties of water that is important to life. Specific heat is defined as the heat necessary to raise one gram of water by one degree Celsius. Because water’s temperature does not change dramatically when absorbing or losing heat‚ water can absorb or release exceeding amounts of heat (by breaking and forming hydrogen bonds) without affecting living organisms in the water and at the same time helping terrestrial organisms outside the water live easier. For example

Temperature affecting enzyme activity Aim: To see how temperature can affect enzyme activity Prediction:-I think the one that will work best will be the rennin placed in milk at 37oC My independent variable will be the temperature My dependant variable will be how thick the milk becomes The equipment I need is milk‚ 5 test tubes‚ rennin‚ water bath‚ boiled rennin‚ a glass rod and a stopwatch Introduction: Rennin is an enzyme found in the stomach‚ its function is to solidify milk. Enzymes are catalytic proteins which speed up the rate of reactions. Every enzyme has a specific function – meaning‚ they can only bind to certain substrates. Because these enzymes are proteins‚ they can be denatured. Enzymes can be denatured by many factors‚ such as pH and temperature. This lab was divided into three parts which examined the effects of pH‚ enzyme concentration and temperature on the rate of which enzymes catalyze. The pH is an index of hydrogen ions. In acidic conditions‚ where

To investigate the physical properties of pure chemical substances. Procedure: For this lab we used four test tubes and poured equal amounts of a substance in each test tube. We then observed the color and odor. We then heated the substance and recorded the observation. The next tube we added cold water and observed the effects‚ then we heated it

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS The character of world trade has undergone significant changes in the last decade. Many issues have come to the fore to influence the trade patterns. The concerns of environment‚ assertions on human rights the sympathy (?!)‚ for child labour‚ to mention a few‚ have‚ been exerting dominant influences.
