Conclusion In this experiment I tested different light intensities. I tested a normal fluorescent light bulb‚ a 100-watt light bulb‚ a 25-watt light bulb‚ and a 15-watt light bulb. I was surprised to find that the control plant grew the most at 135 mm. The 100 watt plant grew the least at 0 mm due to the fact that it fried the plant. The 25 watt plant grew the next highest at 120 mm. The 15-watt light bulb grew tall fastest‚ but then slowed down and stopped at 98 mm you would want to use this

Light Intensity Experiment: For the light intensity experiment‚ our first set of data illustrated strange correlations between the three tubes placed in front of a light source‚ so the data provided in e-campus was used. The tube that was 24 cm away from the light had the greatest decrease in absorbance over the course of 20 minutes‚ followed by the 30 cm and then the 49 cm light apparatus. The tube that was placed in the dark (wrapped in foil) remained a dark blueish-green color whereas the tubes

Hypothesis (Null): There will be no effect upon different distance intensities of light on the terrestrial isopods. IV: The different distance intensities of light at specified lengths (1 meter‚ 2 meter‚ and 3 meters) DV: The number of terrestrial isopods (rolypolies) on the unlighted side on the petri dish. Control: The unlighted side of the opened up petri dish. Purpose: To determine the light sensitivity of terrestrial isopods (rolypolies) in different levels of lighted environment. Number

Masters Woodlice Behavior Experiment Aim: To investigate the effect of light intensity on the behavior of woodlice (Porcellio scaber) in regards to their change in speed. Variables: Variable How can it be controlled? (IV) - Light intensity - The light intensity will be controlled by the knob on the lamp throughout the experiment. In addition‚ the light intensity will be controlled by closing the windows and doors in the classroom as well as turning off any other light source besides

Lab # 1 Inverse Square Law Lab Lab Executed: September 13‚ 2012 By: Arfan Rehab Colleagues: Edwin Chen‚ Tamzid Hassan‚ and Tony Zhao Abstract: The objective of this experiment was to measure the relative intensities of light at various horizontal distances from the lamp. The light detector (photocell) will enable us to make light intensity measurements that are more precise than those made with the human eye. The photocell converts light intensity to an electrical potential

The Effects of Light Intensity on the Rate of Photosynthesis Aim: To investigate the effects of light intensity on photosynthesis. Background: Photosynthesis is a process that plants undergo to produce glucose. The plant then uses the glucose to produce energy which the plant needs to sustain life. The chemical formula for photosynthesis is: Sunlight 6CO2 +6H2O → C6H12O6 + 6O2 Chlorophyll The plant requires light‚ carbon dioxide and

Research question : How does the different light intensity affect the rate of photosynthesis in plants? Objective : To investigate the relationship between different light intensity (by having the source of light at different distance to the plant discs which is at; 10cm‚ 15cm‚ 20cm‚ 25cm‚ 30cm‚ and 35cm ) and rate of photosynthesis of plant. Introduction : Photosynthesis is the process where light energy is absorbed by green plants to convert the raw materials (carbon dioxide and water) into

The Effect of Light Intensity The effect of different light wavelengths was tested in the following experiment. The rate of photosynthesis can be affected depending on the light treatment it receives. With the aid of DPIP acting as NADPH in photosynthesis‚ it was possible to observe the reaction as it took place. Samples were created with dark‚ 24 cm‚ 30 cm‚ and 49 cm light treatments. The absorbance was measured in five-minute intervals for each sample and recorded in an appropriate table
