    To Kill a Mockingbird Final Thoughts Essay To Kill a Mockingbird had very complex characters. Both the novel and the movie version showed these characters differently and similarly. Tom’s character is portrayed in similar and different ways through both the novel and movie. Both portrayals were similar in showing Toms role in the storyline.
