Therefore‚ the experiment was performed to conduct quality control analysis on two commercial products to determine the amount of acid or base active in these two products and then compare the results to those of the manufacture. This was done through the preparation of standardized acid solution and standardized base solution‚ and through titration. The purpose of titration was to determine the concentration levels of the commercial products being used.

BUTENEDIOIC ACID PRE-LAB ASSIGNMENT 1. Maleic acid is the cis version and fumaric acis is the trans version of butenedioic acid. 2. 3. See attached paper. 4. Maleic anhydride is the compound that crystalizes in part A in the experiment. 5. HCl acts as a catalyst to break one of the carbonyl group in the maleic acid which rotates the structure to form a trans structure of the butonal acid which is the fumaric acid. And it does so by donating its protons. 6. Maleic acid Chronic

Dade enrolls at Stanton High School‚ where he meets the beautiful Kate Libby (Angelina Jolie)‚ who is responsible for taking him on a tour of the school. Dade is being told about the pool on the roof that results of being locked on the roof with the other several students during rainstorm. He learns that Kate is “Acid Burn” a feud

Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) was created by chemist Albert Hofmann in Switzerland while attempting to create a blood stimulant. The drug was utilized for psychological experiments for many years and this even led to the military experimenting with it as a biological weapon in the 1960’s. During the 1960’s‚ as a result to the wide dispensing of the drug for experimental purposes‚ it wound up being the “…counterculture used the drug to escape the problems of society…” (LSD: A Short History). April Goodson CHEM 242L-002 February 20‚ 2013 Oxidation of Cyclohexanone to Adipic Acid Abstract The cyclic ketone cyclohexanone was oxidized to adipic acid using the oxidizing agent nitric acid. The experiment yielded 0.2667 grams of adipic acid‚ giving a percent yield of 113.97%. Although the product was allowed to dry for one week‚ residual moisture was still present in the sample and a melting point could not be obtained. This error in the experiment either resulted from adding too much

green gas. (i) Apply damp blue litmus. (Can use red litmus and just see bleaching effect.) (ii) A drop silver nitrate on the end of a glass rod into the gas. (i) litmus turns red and then is bleached white. (ii) White precipitate. (i) Non-metal‚ is acid in aqueous solution and a powerful oxidising agent (ii) It forms a small amount of chloride ion in water‚ so gives a positive result for the chloride test.
