Schools should close school if they need to for a snow day because the safety of everyone is important‚ it really does not do that much of a harm for student achievement‚ and it gives students and teachers a day to do whatever they want. Safety is critical for everyone. When the roads are icy and slick because of the cold winter weather‚ there should not be school.
