ABSTRACT The effect of molecular weight on the rate of diffusion was measured using two tests namely: the glass tube test and the agar-water test. The set-up of the glass tube test used two cotton balls of the same size. One cotton ball is moistened with hydrochloric acid (HCl) and the other one is moistened with ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH). The two cotton balls were inserted in both ends of the glass tube. NH4OH which has a lighter molecular weight (35.0459 g/mole) diffused with a faster rate (dave=20

The Effect of Varying Molecular Weights on the Rate of Diffusion of Substances August 22‚2012 ABSTRACT The effect of molecular weight on the rate of diffusion was verified by the 2 tests: the glass tube setup and the water agar-gel setup. In the glass tube setup‚ two cotton balls were soaked in the solutions of hydrochloric acid (HCl) and ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH) and were simultaneously placed on both ends of the tubing.NH4OH had a lighter molecular weight of 35 g/mole which diffused

potential benefits. Provide one argument for and one argument against increasing current funding for atomic-structure research. Use specific examples from this lesson in your answers to support each position. The use of the MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) machine is a topic of debate with arguments for and against its use of this machine for medical purposes. An argument that supports the use of the MRI is that research in this field of atomic structure has already led to numerous advances that have

functional brain imaging methods and results used to study language and reading disabilities. Although the main focus of this paper is on functional MRI and functional MR spectroscopy‚ other imaging techniques are discussed briefly such as positron emission tomography (PET)‚ electroencephalography (EEG) ‚ magnetoencepholography (MEG)‚ and MR diffusion imaging. These functional brain imaging studies have demonstrated that dyslexia is a brain-based disorder and that serial imaging studies can be used

surround the central atom. Electron domain can be described as a lone pair‚ single‚ double and triple bond‚ and also even free radical. Lone pairs tend to occupy a lot of space and lower the angle of a bond‚ which gives molecular geometry. Lewis structure help determine the molecular geometries‚ 3D structure‚ and distribution of electrons in order to understand the chemical properties of reactivity and molecules like texture and microstructure. One of the most important influences
