“Lost Brother” This is probably my favorite poem in this packet‚ although reading this poem the first time left me kind of unsure of what to think. Was Moss talking simply about a tree that knew another tree that just died or was there a deeper meaning behind it? I suppose that if one were to apply human characteristics to a tree‚ one could find an answer to that. I thought of the tree in the poem as the younger brother to the tree that lived to be four thousand eight hundred and sixty-two years

CHORUS OF THE PEOPLE IN THE LANE The tongues in the lane clack-clack almost continuously‚ going up and down the full scale of human emotions‚ human folly‚ ignorance‚ suffering‚ viciousness‚ magnanimity‚ weakness‚ greatness‚ littleness‚ insufficiency‚ frailty‚ strength. They clack on the street corners‚ where the ice shop hangs out a triangular red flag‚ under the shadow of overhanging building that lean precariously‚ teetering across the dingy chasm of the narrow lane.

Examine how Russell portrays the characters Mrs Johnstone and Mrs Lyons In the musical.Look closely at what they say and how they say it and refer closely to the text in your answer. I think Willy Russell has portrayed Mrs Johnstone as a loving and caring person knowing instinctively what’s right and what’s wrong. She always involves her family when she thinks of life and just thinks of simple things as luxury. This shows she is quite poor. Although she doesn’t have much money still she tries
