In my essay I decided to take on the second and third topics. I’ll first address and examine Anselm’s ontological argument for the existence of God while restating and critically examining Aquinas’s first argument for the existence of God. After I finish with that topic I will then take on Paley and his argument and whether or not it thoroughly proves the existence of God conceived as a supremely perfect being and why or why not this is. During this topic I will bring in Dawkins’ and Hume’s criticisms

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT MOVIE REVIEW The film “Gods Must Be Crazy” illustrates the contrast between the bushman and the modern western society by the interactions between the members of the two communities. Their contrast is evident in the material culture‚ knowledge of the environment and approach to the individual. The film portrays these differences in culture. The bushman lead a life of simplicity and contentment. Their materialistic knowledge is meagre. They live in harmony with the

Lessons From God How does a person find their true self? Do they find it through their friends and family; or do they just expect to know? Some may think that it can only be found through life changing incidents. However‚ that is not always the case. Simple events can make a profound impact on an individual’s life‚ leading them to discover their true identity. Throughout the poem‚ this is shown through the speaker’s perception of the stranger‚ how he makes her feel‚ and how he influences her life

inquisitive air. She has probably no idea what I’m doing here‚ or what she’s doing here; or what was written on the paper I held in my sweaty hands. I motioned for her to sit down beside me‚ and she did. She gaped at the white sheet document I was holding‚ and without doubt‚ I gave it to her. Well‚ I didn’t know what to say‚ or where to begin‚ so I just did what I had in my mind. At first she was shocked‚ and then I saw a hint of pity; no‚ more like empathy. There’s a difference between the two. Pity

Introduction The gods‚ as presented in Homer’s Iliad‚ present a variety of difficulties for the critic. In their style and highly anthropomorphous form‚ they lack close parallels in earlier cultures‚ and compared to the gods of monotheistic religions seem petty‚ small-minded‚ and unworthy‚ perhaps‚ of veneration. Moreover‚ their role as a literary device is highly contested; some authors‚ assign to them the function of comedy and light relief‚ their actions affording a hiatus from the intense fighting

are the true characteristics of a god? Is the role of god only to create‚ or does god control fate? Has god given us a purpose or are we just simply here for his entertainment? I feel to look into ones beliefs of god‚ one must think beyond the barriers of organized religion. There is most likely more to god than the average view a person usually holds. The universe must have been created by the same god that created man. If it were only man to be created by god‚ then who created the vast area outside

THEO202_D12_201320 Final Essay Made In the Image of God The idea of the image of God dwells at the heart of the biblical doctrine of humanity. In that regarding to man‚ both male and female‚ in one form or another resembles the Creator‚ and therefore provides important and significant value and meaning for the human race. A biblical worldview and the image of God would have to begin with God in the book of Genesis‚ first chapter‚ verse one. It is seeing the world‚ the

The Teleological Argument for God There are many theories about how the universe‚ earth‚ and humans came into existence. Some aim to prove the existence of God‚ that a large explosion created all life‚ or even that everything has just always existed. One of these theories works to answer questions about creation and prove the existence of the Christian God; this theory is known as the Teleological argument. To expand my basis of knowledge on this subject I consulted Matthew Esters‚ who recently

The Cost of a Christ Centered Life Towards the end of David’s life and reign as King of Israel‚ he did something that God didn’t like. He counted his men. People warned him not to count his men. But he did it anyway. So what. He counted his men. What’s the big deal? At this point in his life David had not only outlasted King Saul (when he spent years chasing David around the middle east trying to kill him)‚ and out fought the giant Goliath‚ but David and Israel under David’s leadership
