2. Experimental 2.1. Experimental procedure for the synthesis of bone-like CS-PEG-HA-ZrO2 nanocomposites (BNC I-III). At first‚ ZrO2 nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by using the previously reported method [16]. Briefly‚ aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (purchased from HiMedia Private Ltd.) (40 ml 0.05M) was slowly added in zirconium oxychloride octahydrate (purchased from Merck India Ltd.) solution (100 ml 0.01M) prepared in methanol-water (1:1) at 5 oC temperature. The mixture was stirred

Abstract: During the lab a better agent for absorbing Procion Red Dye was trying to be found. Using the different dilutions of a stock solution and a spectrophotometer an Absorbance vs. Concentration graph was created and using the trendline from that graph it was determined which agent‚ zeolite‚ magnetic zeolite‚ or charcoal were better at absorbing the dye. From the results collected it was found that charcoal was the best at absorbing the dye‚ when moles of dye per gram of agent used were calculated

Gold is a soft metal that is largely unreactive. Gold jewellery can lie underground for thousands of years and emerge shiny after that lengthy exposure to air‚ water‚ and other chemicals in the environment. Gold does dissolve in some solvents as indicated below and does react with halogens. The most common oxidation states of gold are Au(I) and Au(III) but there are a few examples of Au(V) (various anions [AuF6]- and [Au2F10]). The Au(III) ion has the d8configuration which gives rise to many square

1. Introduction: Recently‚ we have witnessed the evolution of the information age and modern technology. Everything around us becomes computerized and automated. Wants of people had greatly changed and become more complicated than before. For example‚ in the past‚ the only man‟s need was to have a simple building to shelter him and protect his family from the environment. But today‚ the man‟s want is to have a complicated structural building supported with air conditioning systems‚ lighting systems

Abstract: Nanoelectronics refer to the use of nanotechnology on electronic components‚ especially transistors. Although the term nanotechnology is generally defined as utilizing technology less than 100nm in size‚ nanoelectronics often refer to transistor devices that are so small that inter-atomic interactions and quantum mechanical properties need to be studied extensively. As a result‚ present transistors (such as CMOS90 from TSMC or Pentium 4 Processors from Intel) do not fall under this category

Aeroxide® TiO2 P90 (Evonik‚ Germany) was used in all experiments as the photocatalyst. The properties of TiO2 nanoparticles are given in Table 3.1 according to the supplier. The suspensions were prepared by dispersion of the desired amount of TiO2 in deionized water. The suspension was magnetically mixed at the stirrer speed of 500 – 600 rpm. Table 3.1.
