26 July 2005 – A usual day at junior college when I was day dreaming through another lecture. In the background I could hear heavy rains lashing down. The skies were remarkably dark for even a monsoon day in Mumbai. I checked my clock there were just another 15 minutes to the lecture. After the lecture‚ I and my friend Sahil left for Matunga station to take a local train home. Now my college is about 15 miles from where I stay and we usually travelled by the local trains to and fro. As expected

July 4th‚ 2000. The anniversary of our nation’s beginning and my first day with my new family. I was only three months old when I came to America so I was not totally sure what had happened. All I knew was that I flew on a plane for too long and was happy to be off. Flying all the way from South Korea was a long flight but I was finally home. The first time I found out I was adopted was around third or fourth grade. I obviously knew something was different because my skin color was not the same as

In keeping track of all situations where I have experienced cognitive dissonance I have come to the realization that I use it quite often. Whenever there was a decision to make whether it was on the spot or there was time to think‚ I found myself utilizing rationalizations‚ in order to reduce the stress I was experiencing or to make myself believe the decision I made was the right one. If I made a decision without conviction I made myself believe it was the right choice by creating reasons to validate
