Nelson Mandela was born in the Madiba clan in the village of Mvezo‚ Transkei‚ on 18 July 1918. He was married to Evelyn Mase in 1944. They would go on to have four kids however one his daughters had died in infancy. They had a divorced in 1958. On 10 May 1994 he was inaugurated as South Africa’s first democratically elected President. Mandela went on to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993.
