Title Abstract Purpose The purpose of this experiment is to find an alternate fuel source that is more renewable that petroleum yet requires little change to the currently existing fuel infrastructure. An important part of any alternative fuel is that it must be cheaper to mass produce than gasoline or else it has lost a major advantage over petroleum. A promising alternative fuel source is biodiesel. Unlike ethanol‚ biodiesel can be used as a blend or pure biodiesel in standard diesel engines

An ecosystem is a biological environment consisting of all the organisms living in a particular area‚ as well as all the nonliving or abiotic‚ physical components of the environment with which the organisms interact‚ such as air‚ soil‚ water and sunlight. In a typical ecosystem‚ plants and other photosynthetic organisms are the producers that provide the food. (Leibold) Ecosystems can be permanent or temporary and they usually form a number of food webs. Examples of ecosystem include: Marine Ecosystems:

Groundwater is an important source of drinking water for more than half of the nation’s population and nearly all its rural population. In recent years‚ widespread reports of bacteria‚ nitrate‚ synthetic organic chemicals and other pollutants in groundwater have increased public concern about the quality of groundwater. What do we know - and what don’t we know - about groundwater quality? What causes groundwater contamination‚ and to what extent are the nation’s groundwater supplies at risk?

9.1 Orbitals and Theories of Chemical Bonding 1. Which one of the statements concerning valence bond (VB) and molecular orbital (MO) bond theories is correct? a) MO theory predicts that electrons are localized between pairs of atoms. b) In VB theory‚ bonding electrons are delocalized over the molecule. c) MO theory accurately describes bonding in O2 and NO‚ VB theory does not. d) VB theory can describe molecular bonding in excited states. e) MO theory is used to accurately predict
