The book I decided to read is The Things They Carried which was written by Tim O’Brien. The book is a bunch of connected short stories of a platoon of soldiers in the Vietnam War. The work is a piece of fiction that uses real names and includes the author himself as the protagonist. By doing this‚ the author meshes and blurs the non fiction in with the fiction‚ which makes the book feel like a war memoir. Overall‚ the book was interesting insight on the Vietnam War and a very good book to read.

SECTION A –(1) On one day‚ after watching the movie named “Fahrenheit 451” in the English class‚ I started to thinking about what we are calling happiness . I browsed the web and came across this quotation “ Happiness is a positive range of emotions that we feel when we are content or full of joy” ‚which is Cocacola ‘s definition . Then‚ I reminded of Beatty’s saying in the film ”Cram them full of noncombustible data‚ chock them so damned full full of facts they feel stuffed…then they’ll get

While a review along the lines of “Goal readers are now doing the best work of their lives” might seem like hyperbole for most books‚ it is surprisingly accurate for Eliyahu Goldratt’s book. Perhaps part of The Goal’s allure is the fictional novel format in which it is written‚ setting it apart from other books focused on explaining a method. The novel starts with its main character‚ Alex Rogo‚ struggling to create success for a manufacturing plant making some fictional product and a threat that

about what Hester had to go through. The main character of this book was Hester Prynn‚ a very beautiful young lady. She was very reckless‚ wise‚ and strong. Even though being punished by the entire community Hester was still very protective of her daughter‚ and later on gave advice to many people. One of Hester’s faults was that she did actually cheat on her husband‚ even though he had been missing for so long. In this book Hester Prynn paid her sins of adultery back by wearing the scarlet

Good to Great by Jim Collins is by far the best business-oriented book that I’ve read that can be applied to any career situation. I can see why it has gained the notoriety and respect from top level executives around the world. I have read other business type books which were more of a motivational lecture than actual years of research going into the making of one text. Before reading this book‚ my preconceived notion was that I would be lost in trying to understand executive jargon. That was not

It’s about 11:30 and Detective Tyler Moore is grabbing a cup of coffee as the elevator dings. He turns around‚ about to head back to his desk‚ expecting a wandering drunk or new victim‚ instead drops his coffee at the horrifying scene that had dropped out of the elevator and was now lying motionless and bleeding all over the hallway floor and wall. Snapping himself out of a thunderstruck state‚ he rushes over‚ adrenaline pumping‚ to the mud caked‚ figure barely covered with an even dirtier sheet

The book‚ The Terrorist’s Son‚ written by Zak Ebrahim‚ made me feel bad for Z’s family because their life is also ruined because of their father’s actions. However‚ I grew up seeing the horrific terrorist scenes on the news and in movies that make me question Z’s family. Is this book just one unique story‚ or do all families not know of the terroristic plan and do all people in this situation chose a different path? My first question is does the family of the terrorists truly not know that their

The Hunger Games The title of my book is called The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This book is about a sixteen-year-old girl named Katniss Everdeen who takes her sister’s place in order to participate in the annual Hunger Games‚ where she fights to the death in an arena on live television. The only way to win is to be the last one living in the arena which brings fame and fortune‚ whereas losing brings certain death.
