One of the motifs Mandel uses in both Station Eleven‚ the novel and the comic is the appearance of the sky. In the novel‚ there is a reoccurrence of a storm. The scenery after Arthur died was people drinking their sadness away‚ some crying and in shock. “The snow was almost abstract‚ a film about bad weather on a deserted street.”(Mandel 15) The storm as it is described outside the theater can add to the scene‚ as the day ended with the death of Arthur. As seen in movies‚ on TV or read in other novels

Eleven” and “Spotlight” are quite similar in style‚ but not in voice. They may have the same revolving theme of mean teachers and breakdowns‚ but the tones they take and even the sentence structure they have is completely different. “Eleven” is a story by Sandra Cisneros‚ which is about a girl named Rachel and an ugly red sweater. While in class‚ Rachel’s teacher is asking the class whose red sweater it is. Rachel is seemingly the only one in class that doesn’t say that it’s hers‚ which makes

The Roman Empire fell in 476 B.C. Romans were corrupt in many ways. The Romans political‚ economic‚ and militaristic powers I feel are the 3 main factors of why the Empire fell. The Romans political power was extremely in need of assistance. Being part of the government in Rome was seen as a punishment instead of a reward. Government officials were mostly assassinated or committed suicide (Document A). There were also many civil wars‚ which led to the division of the empires. Rome was politically

While reading section five‚ it occurred to me that I believe Station Eleven will always be favored by most people‚ but it will never be someone’s favorite novel. Personally‚ my three favorite books include Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom‚ The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls‚ and Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. I have just realized all the books mentioned are non-fiction texts. Anyway‚ I enjoy Albom’s memoir because I gained an abundant amount of knowledge and life lessons after reading it.

The impact of Blue Ocean Strategy In the earlier work (See Blue Ocean Strategy: how to create uncontested market ‚ 2005) it has been argued two types of strategies: blue ocean strategy and red ocean strategy.
