They ignored these warning and got married and had a child. They both decided it was best to send him away to keep the prophesy from coming true. However‚ the baby was saved and taken to a nearby city. Oedipus comes back to Thebes and the prophesy comes true. This play is full of ironical twists that add to the drama and suspense of it all
