Bond Implied CDS Spread and CDS-Bond Basis Richard Zhou†‡ August 15‚ 2008 Abstract We derive a simple formula for calculating the CDS spread implied by the bond market price. Using no-arbitrage argument‚ the formula expresses the bond implied CDS spread as the sum of bond price‚ bond coupon and Libor zero curve weighted by risky annuities. We show that the bond implied CDS spread is consistent with the standard CDS pricing model if the survival probabilities and recovery are consistent

While reviewing the Stanford Prison Experiment (Zimbardo‚ 2012)‚ I had to stop reading to wipe my eyes dry. As a human being with compassion or other people‚ I cannot fathom how something like this was even allowed to go on for 6 days. The torture that these students were allowed to endure was atrocious. I see nothing ethical about conducting a study like this due to the fact that there are real prisons with real prisoners that could have been interviewed and studied rather than traumatizing people

Abstract: The objective of this experiment was to successfully prepare an endo‚cis-diacid from the synthesis of the bicyclic anhydride (cis-Norbonene-5‚6-endo-dicarboxylic anhydride). The percent yield of the product was calculated and found to be 39.01%. The infrared spectroscopy confirmed the presence of a O-H group with a stretch at 2948.03 1/cm and the presence of C=O with a stretch at 1698.93 1/cm. Melting point determination found the melting point range of the products to be 149.2-164.1 for

the origin of the phrase “once in a blue moon” and what a blue moon actually is. “Once in a blue moon” today means “very rarely‚” though it used to mean something that was absurd‚ right along the lines of “when pigs fly.” The first known recorded use of a form of the phrase is in an anti-clerical pamphlet published in 1528 by William Roy and Jeremy Barlowe. In a conversation between two characters‚ one says‚ “Yf they say the mone is blewe/We must believe that it is true.” It appears to be a

“Life As We Knew It” by Susan Beth Pfeffer Danielle Graves What would I do? This is what I kept asking myself as I was reading “Life as We Knew It” by Susan Beth Pfeffer. The book follows Miranda and her family through their day-to-day struggles to survive the aftermath of a life-changing event. Astronomers miscalculate the density an asteroid that hits the moon‚ and it pushes the moon closer to Earth. The gravitational pull results in natural disasters that happen
