Abstract: The accident that happened aboard the offshore platform Piper Alpha in This summer 1988 wiped out 167 people and price vast amounts of dollars in damage to property. It had been triggered with a massive fire that was not caused by an unpredictable “act of God” but of an amount of errors and questionable choices. Many of them were rooted within the organization‚ its structure‚ methods‚ and culture. These business factors are generalizable with other industries and engineering systems.

9. Piper Alpha video review The Piper Alpha’s tragic chain of events occurred because of a number of safety procedures were not met or implemented. The almighty dollar was given preference over the safety of hundreds of lives. We found a number of unsafe situations that could have been avoided if the right Safety management system was in place. These are our findings. 1. The oil rig recently introduced a new gas pipeline in the weeks leading up to the disaster. The rig wasn’t designed to be a gas

ABSTRACT: Alpha-cypermethrin (a-CYP) is one of the most widely used insecticides. It may become an air pollutant and adversely affect the health. The present study was designed to determine whether treatment with N-acetyl cysteine (NAC)‚ a well-known antioxidant‚ can be useful for the management of the deleterious effects of a-CYP on lung tissues. For this purpose‚ thirty two male rats were divided into four different groups (eight rats for each). Group (I) gavaged with corn oil (control group)‚
