    The novel Miracle In The Andes is a true story that took place in 1972. A uruguayan flight with 45 passengers had crashed in the Andes leaving only 33 alive after the impact. Survivors continued to die from injury‚ starvation and a surprise avalanche. After a total of 72 days in the Andes the survivors were rescued‚ Nando Parrado and Roberto Canessa climbed through the Andes in search for help for themselves and the rest of the survivors back at the fuselage. A total of 16 out of the 46 people survived
