In my 7th grade English class I chose the poem Perfection written by Anonymous as the basis for my interpretive essay. In this poem the author is trying to explain how perfection is only an idea and how everyone is imperfect in their own perfect way. The message of this poem is that we created perfection to strive for it. The most important line in this poem is “You strive to be “perfect.” This is the most important one because it represents the message that the author is trying to convey.

In the poem “Lsla”‚ the first image I’d like to focus on would be‚ “ growing up watching The Three little Stooges‚ The Little Rascals‚ Speed Racer‚ and Godzilla”. The effect this image had on me triggered a childhood memory. When I was growing up‚ I also watched the same movies. I was entertained‚ even after watching the same movie over and over again. I see the same trait in my children today‚ it amazing how history repeat itself in more than just one way. Another phrase that caught my attention

Compare/contrast In Dudley Randall’s poem “Ballad of Birmingham” and Langston Hughes’s poem “Mother to son” are two poems of two different mothers wanting the best for their child. In the poem “Ballad of Birmingham‚” Dudley Randall illustrates a conflict between a child who wishes to march for civil rights and a mother who wishes only to protect her child. Much of this poem is read as dialogue between a mother and a child in a way that paints a picture of both character’s feelings. “Ballad of

POEM 328 This essay will examine the importance of imagery in the poem 328‚ compared to other poems written by Emily Dickinson that we have studied in previous weeks. ‘A Bird came down the walk’ is a narrative of Emily watching a bird. This bird symbolises both the truth and inevitability of nature. The poem is similar to ‘Because I could not stop for death’ as they portray death as something natural and a process of evolution. In 710‚ death and Dickinson ride in a carriage together; ‘The Carriage

To write a comparative poem between two poems Limbo and Caged Bird are two very similar poems. They are mainly about one matter-freedom of captivity. Freedom is what the poems characters desire and hope to have. Freedom is their need and wants to be joyful and happy. I have picked these two poems‚ which link in many different ways‚ because they have interesting descriptions of the scene and tell us what the atmosphere is like. Furthermore‚ the authors‚ Braithwaite and Maya Angelou have used different

Woods on a Snowy Evening’ and ‘Birches’. The poetry of Robert Frost often embraces themes of nature. ‘Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening’ and ‘Birches’ are not exceptions. Frost shows the relationship between nature and humans in both poems. In the poem ‘Birches’‚ the narrator sees trees whose branches have been bent by ice storms. However‚ he favors a vision of branches that are bent as a result of boys swinging on them‚ just as he did when he was young. Here‚ he is connecting humans to nature

of Donne’s poems John Donne is the name in English literature who gave a new direction to the literary activities of his age. He is in a sense founded the metaphysical lyric‚ which was practiced by a score of writers. He set up a new tradition in versification. By and large Donne must be regarded as an original poet‚ a poet who gave much more than what he borrowed from his age. One of Donne’s poems‚ "A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning" comes to the same conclusion as seeing the poem as a whole.
