Pablo Neruda was born on July 12‚1904 in Parral‚ Chile. He was originally named Neftali Ricardo Reyes‚ and was raised by his widowed father in Temuco‚ Chile. He began to show an interest for literacy early as thirteen‚ being given the opportunity to write limited articles and share his poems in the daily La Manana news paper. With the influence and experience that La Manana newspaper gave Pablo Neruda‚ in 1920 he was able to branch out and be part of the literary journal “Selva Austral.” Here
