    In a normal healthy person there is a healthy pancreas that contains beta cells. Beta cells control‚ store‚ and give off hormone insulin. Beta cells give off insulin when carbohydrates are eaten or when blood sugars are low. However‚ in a person with type 2 diabetes things are different. Beta cells in a person who is just developing diabetes discharge to much insulin causing them to grow. Soon after this happens the body shuts down the beta cells causing the body to become insulin resistant.
