All research can be differentiated on the basis of whether its methodology produces mostly numerical data (e.g.‚ scores and measurements) or mostly narrative data (e.g.‚ verbal descriptions and opinions) (Mertler‚ C. & Charles‚ C. 2011‚ p 24).
