Louis XIV known as the sun king was born 5 September 1638 – 1 September 1715 to Louis XIII and Anne of Austria. Louis ruled as the king of France from 1643-1715. Louis ruled as the absolute monarch for72 years and 110 days. After king Louis XIII died Louis XIV was crowned king at age 4.
