Louis XIV known as the sun king was born 5 September 1638 – 1 September 1715 to Louis XIII and Anne of Austria. Louis ruled as the king of France from 1643-1715. Louis ruled as the absolute monarch for72 years and 110 days. After king Louis XIII died Louis XIV was crowned king at age 4. During the first few years of Louis reign anne introduce policies that told about his power as a monarch. Beginning in 1648 a civil war broke out known as the Fronde‚ which led the royal family to flee Paris.
