poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) and titanium dioxide (TiO2 ) were investigated by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The size distribution of the TiO2 nanoparticles was measured using transmission electron microscope and scanning electron microscope. The studies on the mechanical properties of composite material indicate that the addition of TiO2 nanoparticles increases its strength. The prepared nanocomposite dressing has excellent antimicrobial efficacy and good biocompatibility

ABSTRACT Tinospora cordifolia (Willd.) Miers‚ it is a large‚ deciduous‚ tropical climbing shrub found throughout India‚ belong to the family Menispermaceae. Pharmacologically‚ Tinospora has a wide importance in Ayurveda. Secondary growth is achieved by formation of multiple cambia and other showed by formation of single cambium by members of Menispermaceae. Anatomy of this climber shows formation of xylem plates‚ this formation of cambial variants is the result of normal activity of cambium but abnormality

In this study‚ silver nanoparticles were synthesized by biophysical method. Silver nanoparticles were characterized using UV-Visible absorption spectroscopy (Surface Plasmon absorption at 418-420 nm)‚ Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDX)‚ Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X- ray diffraction (XRD). The cytotoxic effect of silver nanoparticles on acute myeloid leukemia cell line (THP – 1 cell line) was studied in vitro. The activity of chemotherapeutic drugs Cyclophosphamide and Busulfan was

BONE-EATING WORMS FROM THE ANTARCTIC: the contrasting fate of whale and wood remains on the Southern Ocean Seafloor OLUDAMILOLA ADESIYUN GEOL 440 DR. CARL RICHTER NOVEMBER 17‚ 2013 This paper explains the results from the first experimental study of the fate of whale and wood remains on the Antarctic seafloor. Using a baited free-vehicle lander design‚ it is observed that whale-falls in the Antarctic are heavily infested by at least two new species of bone-eating worm‚ Osedax antarcticus

Evaluation of the effects of Ag exchanged zeolite nanocomposite on excisional wound healing in rats. Introduction Skin is often injured by wounding or physical trauma. Damages to skin initiate a series of complicated and well-orchestrated events of repair processes ending with complete reestablishment of the penetrate deep in the skin remain a major clinical problem because of morbidity associated with prolonged periods required for repair and regeneration of the injured tissue‚ bleeding‚ risk for
