Sonnet 106: When in the chronicle of wasted time… In the analysis of this sonnet we see the normal sonnet structure for Shakespearean sonnets. Each sonnet is composed of three quatrains and one couplet. A quatrain in poetry is four lines and a couplet is two lines which has the Volta in it. The Volta is a turn or shift in the meaning of the poem. The rhyme scheme of this sonnet like any other sonnet that we find is ABAB…GG.
