The War of 1812 was one of the most significant battles in American history because it is where the U.S. proved that they were a nation that could unite and fight during battle. The War of 1812 was mainly fought between America and Great Britain with France being slightly involved. Although‚ America was independent from Britain‚ they were not necessarily allies either.
