Photosynthesis vs. Solar Cells When the subject of solar energy is discussed both the ideas and processes of photosynthesis and solar cells are the basis of these conversations. While both are processing or converting light into energy‚ which will be explained further‚ it is the type of energy that is vastly different. Photosynthesis as a process used by certain plants to convert the suns energy into food. When the electromagnetic energy from the sun reaches a green plant the chlorophyll

Photosynthesis is a crucial energy conversion process that occurs in the chloroplasts of eukaryotic cells. The rate of photosynthetic activity holds importance in environmental‚ horticultural and agricultural situations. (Boardman‚ N.K. 1977). Pigments in the chloroplasts thylakoid membrane absorb the electromagnetic radiation from a light source and release an electron into the electron transport chain. DCPIP’s chemical ability to favourably accept electrons‚ and undergo a colour change from

The effect of different temperature on the cell respiration. Introduction: Cell respiration is the controlled release of energy from organic compounds in cells to form ATP‚and then release waste products. The process of cell respiration can take place in the presence or absence of oxygen. In either case‚the first stage of cell respiration is glycolysis. The effect of temperature on cell respiration mainly depends on the effect of temperature on of enzyme activity.Generally speaking in a certain

Cellular metabolism encompasses the many processes that work together to keep the cells in dynamic equilibrium. Cellular metabolism is responsible for providing energy to the cell and is an essential element of life. There are several complex‚ involved processes involved in cellular metabolism including glycolysis‚ Krebs’s cycle‚ and electron transport. Metabolism itself can be broken down into two different categories: catabolic and anabolic. Catabolic metabolism involves the breakdown of large

What is the significance of the role Speer played as Minister of Armaments and Production? In February 1942‚ Hitler’s Minister for Weaponry and Munitions and chief civil engineer‚ Fritz Todt‚ had been killed in a plane crash‚ to which Speer was then appointed to take over all Todt’s offices‚ which gave him responsibility for the German construction and energy industries. When Speer took on this role‚ he had soon realised that Germany was not prepared to fight a major world war. Nazi leaders did

The Holocaust will never be forgotten‚ it was a brutal attempt of extermination of a selected human race‚ just because of their life choices. This mass murder will never be forgotten it has made a huge impact in history. Flossenbürg served as one of the many concentration camps‚ which was completely brutal; even the SS admitted it. Abstract The hypothesis states that plants respire at a faster rate if they are exposed to wind‚ opposed to no wind. This was tested by putting one plant in water in front of a fan and the other plant in water‚ but with no fan. The results showed that the plant in front of the fan transpired more. However‚ since the plant blew cold air it affected the rate of transpiration and altered the experiment. Overall‚ this experiment supports the hypothesis that wind makes plants transpire more.
