Depression is the leading cause of teenage suicide. Severe depression is often accompanied by a general sense of suffering as well as the belief to escape from it’s hopelessness. The pain of existence often becomes too much for severe depressed people to bear. The state of depression changes their thinking‚ allowing ideas like “Everyone would all be better off without me” to make rational sense.
