    The Dream Tale In “The Tell-Tale Heart‚” Edgar Allen Poe illustrates the narrator’s murder of an old man. The narrator is confessing his doing about how he has gone out of his way to evade and disturb the old man until he decided it was his time. After completing the perfect crime his conscience begins to eat away at him through what sounds like the beating of the old man’s heart.
