Dwyer The Brooklyn Dodgers (1947-1957) Brooklyn‚ one of the 5 boroughs in New York and being known as a magnet for immigrants‚ had its greatest amount of people moving into the borough during the 40s and 50s. It was the post-war era and families were sprouting all over New York. During that time the Brooklyn Dodgers were a significant part of Brooklyn and baseball history. Today the Brooklyn Dodgers remain as one of the most historical teams to ever play the game. No team could ever compare

5/10/13 History 1302 JFK Museum The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza was nothing short of an amazing experience. It provides an abundant amount of interesting information about John F. Kennedy and goes into a lot deeper depth than just the day of the shooting. I have always loved going to museums and finding out interesting things about the past‚ and it is even a bigger thrill when you are actually at the place where history happened. The Sixth Floor Museum provides information about JFK’s

The three portraits that are being exhibited at the Dunham Bible Museum are breathtaking‚ these paintings touched my heart and were the reasons why I chose to write about these paintings: The Messiah‚ the detailed portrait of Jesus crucified‚ it shows the love that God has for us‚ to send Jesus‚ his only son to save us‚ to save me‚ and that his death has given humanity a chance to redeem ourselves‚ as well the words "Father forgive them" are so powerful as it shows how pure Jesus heart was that he

The whole movie deals with emotions and how they grow up in that environment and that reflects in next generation’s life. Their perceptions are a lot different from my culture. One thing that I felt from this movie is whatever you see from parents or elder siblings‚ most of the time you will follow that way and it’s also happen in my culture also. Twenty years ago at about the same time that "Cisco" and "Stingray" Santiago became leaders of the notorious Assassination gang and Luis also became a

One of the main conflicts of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith is person (Francie) vs. society. Poverty and judgment runs down the streets of Williamsburg‚ Brooklyn‚ New York. Francie dives head on into conflicts concerning gender‚ economic state‚ and religion. “She put the penny in her dress pocket and turned the rest of the money over to him. Neeley was ten‚ a year younger than Francie. But he was the boy; he handled the money” (Smith 8). In essence‚ this shows females were not trusted to

This movie consistently creates tension‚ fear and excitement throughout numerous scenes. A prime example of how the director Shawn Levy conveys the action and excitement in this movie is during the T-rex Chase scene. Methods

Museum of Tolerance The Museum of Tolerance‚ in my opinion‚ is one of the best museums that were ever created. It tells the story of the Holocaust and shows how the Jewish people were treated during that time. The museum shows film footage of deportation scenes and simulated sets of concentration camps. Although the basis of the museum is the Holocaust‚ the museum also makes people face racism and prejudices. This museum is anything other than ordinary and it is a very educational experience.
