    WRT 111  1 April 2015    Unnecessary Labeling of Genetically Modified Organisms    In Thomas A. Hemphill and Syagnik Banerjee’s article‚ ​ Mandatory Food Labeling for  GMOs‚ ​ they discuss why genetically modified organisms (GMOs)  in the United States are not  and should not be labeled. Throughout the article Hemphill and Syagnik explain that the FDA is  in charge of creating food product labels‚ but that the labeling of GMOs are not needed for  several reasons. While the article is an easy read and is aimed towards the average adult

    Genetically modified organisms or as most of us know them by GMOs. These are organisms where a gene is purposely changed or added artificially to make it more appealing. Humans have been genetically enhancing anything we can. Many people are for GMOs while others are against it. An estimated 70% of all of our food supply contain at least one genetically modified organism. Therefor if you were against it there is really no way of running away from them.
