The trip to the Nelson-Atkins Museum was an insightful and eye opening experience. It was my second trip to a large art museum‚ the first one being The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Though I am not one you would call an art connoisseur‚ I do take interest in specific art pieces. I often find myself wondering what the artist was thinking about when painting or constructing a piece of work. I wonder what emotions they might have been going through or if someone unknown inspired them

in the current period of time and the common start point for this type of art is from the 1970’s to the present day. In Houston there are two museums that display Contemporary Art for no fee‚ the Menil Collection‚ and Contemporary Arts Museum. In these two museums I was able to see many pieces of art from extremely talented and creative artists. Each museum had a collection of pieces that made you wonder‚ smirk‚ and cringe. In the Menil Collection there was a lively and colorful piece by Johnnie

Museum Report The first piece of art that I decided to write on that I came across in the Cummer Museum was June Morning‚ by Thomas Hart Benton‚ painted in 1945.His oil painting depicts everyday life on a farm‚ with a rancher milking a cow‚ the sun breaking the clouds in the background behind the barn‚ and beautiful flora at the base of the picture; giving the illusion that you are peeking through the greenery for the glimpse of the farm (Cummer Resources. #3 Thomas Hart Benton – June Morning.)

ATIVE ANALYSIS PART TWO It is not surprising that Steven Vincent was stopped by Oldenburg’s Store sculptures because the Guggenheim museum is one of the last places you would expect to find his objects‚ especially those that were originally intended for his storefront in the Lower Eastside of Manhattan. The irony of ‘the commodity object as art versus the art object as commodity’ set much of the stage for Oldenburg’s Store because he‚ like Allan Kaprow‚ understood that art changes accordingly to

Review of the exhibit at the Art and Science of Medicine Exhibition at the science museum. On the 12th of February‚ I and my group travelled to the Science Museum and went to the 5th floor to visit the Art and Science of Medicine Exhibition. We individually had to decide on an area of interest in which we wanted to critically examine in order to look at the development in that field. In addition‚ we also had to examine the interaction between medical and social models with in that area as well

For my museum‚ I’ve decided that I would “rebuild” Camelot. it will have a moat surrounding the castle with a drawbridge‚ a gatehouse‚ a wall walk‚ merlons‚ courtyard‚ stables‚ tower etc… I would buy a large piece of land and have a castle built and a forest around it. I would have the museum in Glastonbury as the museum is based on the Arthurian legend and Glastonbury has many links to king Arthur (it is said that Glastonbury is Avalon‚ the resting place of king Arthur and apparently king Arthur’s

The Museum of Fine Arts This semester I visited the Museum of Fine Arts. The thing I thought was‚ it was pretty large made up of two buildings linked by a cool underground tunnel. Parking is free across the street. This museum is remarkable with its collection of fine art pieces. Even if you aren’t an art lover I still think you will enjoy a visit. I went through it quickly‚ but still spent about 90 minutes there. If you like fine art you will spend twice that amount of time there. The museum artwork

Introduction: Going to the museum is one of my favorite things to do. I just acquired this hobby last year‚ when I took my first art class. Since then‚ I have been to many museums in Baltimore‚ New York and the DC area‚ however‚ the Walters Museum is by far my favorite. I looked forward to going again‚ and reacquainting myself with my favorite art pieces‚ as well as doing the assignment. However‚ the blissfulness I expected from this encounter turned out not to be‚ as the Eternal Egypt collection
